Finishing up the album!

I'm about 75% done with my electro-hiphop-progrock-spiritual-sci-fi opus, Kid Beyond and the Intergalactic Love Army.

What's it about, you ask: think Iraq War meets Star Wars.

When a headstrong U.S. soldier loses his true love in a suicide bombing, he heads into outer space to bring her back from the dead. Joining an intergalactic order of pantheistic peace warriors, he must learn to lay down his gun and become a Warrior of the Heart — if he is to defeat the invincible Shadow Lord Anubis and save the Universe from annihilation.

A pan-mythic tale of gods, goddesses, trisexual fembot mercenaries, Panthroids in daft punk G-rides, contraband limbs, epic beach raves on triple-sun party planets, robot romance, interdimensional warfare... and the love that transcends it all.

Well, you asked.

Now we're bringing in the guest artists: some MC's both old school and new; a certain piano-playing chanteuse you may have heard of...

Telltale Games: The Interview

I've been a professional voice actor – for commercials, video games, museum tours, etc. – for about 11 years now. One of my favorite companies to work with is Telltale Games, who produce wickedly funny episodic video games.

Kid Beyond doesn't play it safe with "I'm Alive"... This song was created to be epic, and it captures the grand epic feeling that some prog rock concept albums have, yet it's actually pretty easy to play. The lyrics shift back and forth between mystical, surrealistic themes and sharp references to the Iraq War... If you hear someone on Highland howling "So hurry up 'cause I'm ready to die / I'm alive!" at neighbor-annoying pitches, it might be me.
